The darkest moment of Andrew’s life began behind bars. What started as a desire to fit in led him down a dangerous path of addiction and incarceration. But today, his story is one of redemption, healing and hope, thanks in large part to the transforming work God is doing through 7 Springs Ministries.
The Spiral Into Addiction
“I wanted to be with them, and so I’d done what everybody was doing,” Andrew reflects about his early years. That desire for acceptance eventually led him into meth addiction. What followed were arrests, legal consequences and a string of rehab programs that failed to bring lasting change.
Andrew recalls trying to “beat the system” after being placed on community corrections. “I thought I could beat it … and they taught me you can’t.” His efforts to manage his addiction alone only led him deeper into trouble.
Finding a Firm Foundation
Things began to change when Andrew came to 7 Springs Ministries.
“At first, I thought, oh, it’s going to be like all the other ones,” he says. But through the mentorship of people like Miss Nikki and the love of the 7 Springs community, Andrew discovered more than sobriety: he discovered a relationship with Christ.
“You ain’t got to do stuff to fit in. You got to be your own self,” he shares. For Andrew, true freedom came not just from leaving addiction behind, but from becoming who God created him to be.
A New Life, A Better Future
Raised in church, Andrew always knew about God, but he had drifted far from that foundation. Now, he’s rebuilding his life on it. “You got to have Him as your Lord and Savior. He’s there for us,” he says with conviction.
Since graduating, 7 Springs has remained a lifeline. “They kept their arms open for me … They’re helping me through everything, aspects of life that I needed to work on and have to build.”
Looking back, Andrew realizes how different things could have been. “I could have been dead. Most of my friends … have died. And it’s just a blessing that 7 Springs has helped me out.”
Hope for the Hurting
Andrew’s story is a powerful testimony of God’s grace and the impact of a ministry that truly cares. His message to others still in the grip of addiction is clear:
“Definitely, there’s a better road to go down … There’s a better future for you, as in being sober and enjoying life.”
At 7 Springs Ministries, lives like Andrew’s are being transformed every day—not just from addiction, but into freedom, faith and purpose. Andrew’s journey reminds us that no one is too far gone and that in Christ, restoration is always possible.
