Bobby had a good childhood. He was raised to work hard and respect others. He met his future wife when he was 8 years old, and by 16 they were married. At 21, he was running his own business, raising kids and living in a house on the river. Life was good.

Motorcycle wrecks and car accidents led to an addiction to pain pills, which eventually led to dope. Pretty soon he was making the dope, which landed him in jail. Around that time, his nephew lost his life to drugs, which made Bobby reevaluate his own life.

“I got to thinking, ‘If I keep on doing this, I’m going to die, just like he did.’”

Restored Hope for the Future

He called 7 Springs from jail and asked to join the program.

“The people here care about you. If you can’t clean here at 7 Springs, you can’t get clean nowhere. This is, in my opinion, one of the best places there is. I love it; I really do.”

When Bobby started working to overcome his addiction, his relationships with his kids and grandkids were restored. He had not seen his oldest son since he joined the navy ten years ago, but for Christmas, they arranged a visit. This was Bobby’s first time meeting his daughter-in-law and the couple’s two children.

“Stay with God. Trust in God. Turn it over to God. Let go, and let God handle it. Don’t ever give up.”
