Daniel Hughes

Executive Director / Founder

Originally from Anniston, Alabama, Executive Director and Founder of 7 Springs Ministries, Daniel Hughes, has dedicated his life to helping restore the broken and rebuild our cities. He and his wife, Colonie Hughes, founded the ministry in 2014 as an act of faith and obedience to the Lord’s call on their lives.

Daniel started using drugs at 15-years-old and progressed from recreational drugs to hard drugs by age 20. He had also been selling drugs from his late teens until he was eventually arrested for trafficking cocaine at age 24. A blessing in disguise, this conviction led him to participate in a faith-based, 12-month residential program (The Foundry) where He came to know the Lord Jesus Christ as King of his heart.

After successfully graduating from The Foundry and serving a three-year prison sentence, he worked his way from a felony to a six-figure job and met Colonie while serving in leadership at a local church where they were later married. Also having recovered from a past of addiction, Colonie shared Daniel’s passion for Christ-centered recovery. In 2010, Daniel received a full pardon from the State of Alabama.

This passion eventually led Daniel to leave his corporate job for a position at The Foundry helping to build their men’s and women’s programs. A couple of years later, the Lord called Daniel and Colonie to step out in faith and found 7 Springs Ministries.
