In a recent message at Word Alive International Outreach, 7 Springs founder Daniel Hughes invited listeners into a deeper understanding of God’s faithfulness, identity and the love of the Father. Rather than focusing on isolated moments of success or failure, the invitation was to view life through the long lens of God’s redemptive work—a story still unfolding, shaped by grace, patience and purpose.

Life often feels like a series of missteps: seasons of falling short, giving up, or barely holding on. Yet God is not discouraged by the process. Growth is rarely instantaneous. Transformation happens over time, through persistence and trust, as hearts are shaped into the image of Christ. “It ain’t all about one day,” Hughes reflected. “It’s about a lifetime of falling and getting back up and getting after God.” What matters most is not how the journey unfolds, but that it leads home.

Nothing Wasted, Nothing Missed

Each person’s path is different. Some endure hardship from childhood—abuse, neglect, poverty—while others encounter suffering later in life. Yet Scripture assures that none of it is wasted. God works all things together for good, even pain and failure, using every part of the story to bring healing and maturity. God does not judge a life by a single moment or season; He sees all of time at once, shaping every experience toward redemption.

At the center of this truth is identity. Humanity was not created as an afterthought or a mistake. People are fearfully and wonderfully made, formed in God’s image and loved from the beginning. Salvation does not make someone valuable; it restores what was always intended. Hughes challenged the belief that people are born broken beyond repair, reminding listeners that they entered the world innocent, beloved and full of purpose. They are not fighting from behind. They are born winners, invited into a life of becoming more like Christ.

Justified and Called Sons

Justification stands as a powerful expression of that identity. Those whom God calls, He justifies—meaning the past no longer defines the present. “Justified is just if it had never happened,” Hughes said, describing freedom from shame, guilt, and fear. Accusation may linger, but it does not speak the truth. God sees His children not by their worst moments, but by who they were created to be and who they are becoming.

This awakening is part of a larger story God has been telling throughout history. Over time, truths about grace, salvation, and the Holy Spirit were rediscovered and restored. Today, a fresh understanding is emerging: believers are not distant servants, but sons and daughters of a loving Father. This revelation dissolves the last remnants of separation and invites a deeply personal relationship with God—one marked by trust rather than striving.

Living Awake to the Father’s Love

Living as sons and daughters changes everything. Obedience no longer flows from fear of punishment, but from love and honor. Faith grows as truth is heard and embraced. As believers walk in their inheritance—peace, love, authority—darkness loses its grip. This is not about seeking power or recognition, but about reflecting the life of Jesus. The goal is not greater displays, but deeper resemblance.

Suffering, too, takes on new meaning. When life unravels and strength runs out, it is not rejection at work, but love. God disciplines those He loves, refusing to leave them bound. Even moments of exposure or humiliation become pathways to freedom, producing healing that could not come any other way. What the world may mock, God redeems.

Throughout it all, the Father’s heart remains constant and relentlessly loving. He is not distant or angry, but rejoicing over His children, inviting them into restoration and rest. His love casts out fear, replaces shame with belonging, and calls each person home.

The invitation is simple but profound: step into sonship. Receive God not only as Savior, but as Father. Begin each day believing what He says—beloved, chosen, pleasing in His sight. As identity takes root, life begins to align with truth. And through sons and daughters living awake to His love, God’s glory quietly fills the earth.

If you’re struggling with addiction, reaching out for help isn’t a failure—it’s a response to love. You’re not being punished or pushed away; you’re being drawn toward healing, freedom and the life you were always meant to live.
