7 Springs founder, Daniel Hughes, shared a message at Word Alive International about what it means to live from our true identity—as sons and daughters of God. Everything begins there. Without knowing who we are in Him, we can’t live the life He’s called us to live or walk in the fullness of His promises.

Living From Intimacy—Not Striving

This isn’t about trying harder to become someone different. It’s about realizing who we already are. The Father’s voice still speaks the same words He spoke over Jesus: “You are my son, you are my daughter, in whom I am well pleased.” That declaration comes before any work, before any achievement, before we “get it all together.” It’s not something we earn; it’s something we receive.

Faith opens the door to that reality. The promises of God aren’t waiting for us in some distant future—they’re here now, accessed by faith. Shame, guilt and fear only cloud the truth. But the moment we choose to believe what God says about us, the lies lose their power. As Daniel put it, “The devil’s only as strong as a lie. When you believe a lie, it’s strong—but once truth comes, it’s destroyed.”

Life in Christ is meant to flow from intimacy. Every believer has access to the Father’s presence, the “secret place” where we hear His counsel and receive His strength. When we listen and obey, heaven partners with earth—His kingdom comes, His will is done.

“You want to see heaven move? Hear Him in the secret place and go do what He says.”

Revival Begins With Identity

Revival doesn’t fall from the sky. It comes through sons and daughters who wake up to who they are. As we cast off the orphan spirit and walk in beloved identity, we become the very place where heaven meets earth. God moves through His people to bring freedom, healing and restoration to families, cities and nations.

It begins with this simple truth: the Father delights in His children. He isn’t waiting for perfection—He’s waiting for presence. He misses us. He invites us near, reminding us that His thoughts toward us are more numerous than the sand on the seashore.

You are not disqualified. You are not forgotten. You are a beloved son, a beloved daughter—and the Father still says, “You are mine, and I am well pleased.”
